JPG to PNG Converter
In short
Drop your JPG files in and get PNG files back. The PNG will not look better than the JPG, because detail lost earlier cannot return, but it is safe to edit and save again without further loss.
Private by design: your files are processed on your device and are never uploaded.
How to use it
- Drop one or more JPG images into the box, or click it.
- Wait a moment while they convert.
- Download each PNG, or all of them as a ZIP.
Why convert JPG to PNG?
- An app or form only accepts PNG.
- You want to edit and re-save without losing more quality each time.
- You plan to add transparency later in an editor.
The PNG file will be larger than the JPG, often several times larger. Converting does not restore detail that JPG already removed.
Questions
Will the image look better as a PNG?
No. It looks the same as the JPG. PNG just avoids new quality loss from here on.
Why is the PNG so much bigger?
PNG stores every pixel exactly, while JPG throws away detail to save space. Photos make large PNG files.
Does it add transparency?
No. A JPG has no transparent areas, so the PNG stays opaque.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Everything is converted in your own browser.
