How to Save a WebP Image as JPG
Drop the WebP file into the WebP to JPG tool and download the JPG. If the image has a transparent background and you want to keep it, convert to PNG instead.
Why you got a WebP
Many websites send images as WebP because it makes pages load faster. When you right-click and save, you get the WebP file, even though the page looked like a normal picture. Some programs and upload forms then refuse it.
Steps
- Open the WebP to JPG tool.
- Drop in one or more WebP files.
- Leave quality at about 90 percent, or lower it for a smaller file.
- Download the JPGs.
Keep transparency?
JPG cannot be transparent. Transparent areas become white. If you need to keep the see-through background, use the WebP to PNG tool.
Why the JPG may be larger
In one test a 178 KB WebP became a 361 KB JPG. That is expected: WebP is more efficient, so the same picture needs more space as JPG. Lower the quality slider if size matters.
Animated WebP
Only the first frame of an animated WebP is converted, because JPG and PNG are still pictures.
